A team from Iceland's  Parliament headed by its speaker Asta R Johannesdottir, called on Tamil Nadu Assembly speaker P Dhanapal at the Secretariat today. Later the team visited the ongoing exhibition of the Secretariat, which had been inaugurated by Chief Minister Jayalalithaa yesterday, in connection with the  Legislative Assembly's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Later speaking to the media Jonannesdottir said several schemes were being implemented in the state for the benefit of the people.
Tamil Nadu assembly secretary Jamaluddin was present on the occasion.
